How to get started with Kimshi Simple

Every new Kimshi Simple account starts in Sandbox mode — a free, risk-free environment where you can build your schedule, set up your booking website, and try a test booking before your first real client ever sees the site.

This short video from Kimshi Simple walks you through signing up and exploring your account in sandbox mode.

Before setup, you can also read What is Kimshi Simple? for a plain-language overview of the connected operating platform.

What sandbox mode is

Sandbox is the default state of a new Kimshi Simple account. While you are in sandbox:

  • No payment card is required — it is completely free.
  • Bookings are simulated — no real payments are taken from clients.
  • Notifications are suppressed — no confirmation emails are sent to clients.
  • Your booking site is not publicly indexed by search engines.
  • There is no time limit — you can stay in sandbox as long as you need.

Everything you set up in sandbox carries forward when you go live. Your sessions, site design, feature pages, and settings are all preserved. You do not lose your work when you choose a plan.

Step 1 — Sign up

  1. Go to kimshisimple.com and choose Sign in or Get Started.
  2. Click Create an account.
  3. Enter your email address and choose a password.
  4. Click Sign up.

Step 2 — Set up MFA

  1. You will be asked to choose a multi-factor authentication (MFA) method.
  2. Confirm whether you are using an authenticator app or email for MFA.
  3. Enter the code from your chosen MFA method.

You are now in your sandbox account. The admin dashboard is the control centre for everything you will do next.

Step 3 — Explore what you can do in sandbox

You can build and test most of the product before going live. Recommended starting points:

  • Scheduling — create your first session or recurring schedule
  • Client Info — generate and manage client profiles
  • Staff Records — create and manage staff profiles
  • Site Wizard — generate your booking website in a few steps
  • Feature Wizard — configure your booking page, contact page, and gallery
  • Test booking — run a test booking from the public site to see the client experience
  • Memberships — set up recurring membership offers for clients if your business uses them

While testing, you will not be able to deploy your website to a public URL, and no notification emails will be sent to clients. This is expected behaviour in sandbox mode so that you can freely test without real clients receiving test emails or finding your site before you are ready.

Switching to Kimshi Simple

Switching systems should not mean rebuilding everything from scratch. Kimshi Simple supports a guided setup and migration process, helping clubs move key data, prepare their booking setup, and preview their new system before switching anything live.

  • Preview setup before going live
  • Key data migration support
  • Guided onboarding
  • Payment setup support
  • Parent/client communication support
  • Go-live support

Step 4 — Go live when you are ready

When your sessions, site, and booking setup look right, choose a plan from Subscriptions in the admin dashboard. The moment your plan is active, real payments are processed and real notification emails are sent. Make sure your content is ready before inviting clients.

See How to go live on a plan for a complete walkthrough.

Common questions

Do I need a credit card to try Kimshi Simple?

No. Sandbox is completely free with no payment details required.

How long does sandbox last?

Sandbox mode creates a profile that lasts for 30 days. You can stay in sandbox mode until deciding on a plan for that time before having to renew your account.

What happens to my test bookings when I go live?

All of the data you generate in sandbox will be carried forward to your live account. When you deploy your website, your sessions will be automatically added to your live booking schedule.

Can I invite staff or other admins in sandbox?

You can explore staff and admin features in sandbox, but invitation emails will not be delivered until you are on a live plan.

Why are there no notification emails during testing?

Kimshi Simple suppresses all outbound emails in sandbox mode so that test activity does not reach real people. This is expected behaviour.
